The Measurement Group has worked with community programs for underserved and vulnerable populations throughout our history. We aim to help organizations use data to help improve health, behavioral health, and social services in disenfranchised communities.
The recent tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and far too many other Black Americans show how far we have to go as a society. We support the work of Black Lives Matter and others who work to change the status quo for disenfranchised and marginalized people.
As evaluators who work with healthcare programs in underserved communities, and professionals who understand the importance of social determinants of health, we see first-hand the effects of institutional racism on communities of color and how that leads to things like shorter life expectancy, higher maternal and infant mortality, and disproportionate rates of death from COVID-19.
We are listening. We are reading, viewing, and engaging in conversation to better understand the reality and experience of Black Americans. We can always do better in our efforts to eradicate racism in all forms.
